Koalas are now considered an endangered species in Queensland, NSW and the ACT under the Australian Government’s Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. Now more than ever we need to work together as a community to help protect this iconic Australian animal and ensure they are around for future generations to come.
You may think it unlikely that there is anything you can do to save a species on its own – but small changes can have big consequences so let’s use that to our advantage! Here are three ways you can make a positive impact on our threatened and endangered species like the koala.
The following list includes just a small sample of the many wildlife and koala rescue and rehabilitation organisations throughout Australia. If you would like to be included in this list, please contact us.
